J&K: Police attach property of drug peddler under NDPS Act in Anantnag

Date:

In their continued crackdown against drug trafficking and its financial networks, police have attached a residential house of an alleged drug peddler under the Narco Act in Jammu Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Police on Tuesday said that a double-storey residential house built on 1 kanal of land and valued at approximately Rs 1 crore of Khurshid Ahmad Dar, a resident of Satkipora, was attached under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The house has been linked to proceeds of drug trafficking and was attached under section 68-F of the Narco Act, they said.

The accused is implicated in a major narcotics case registered under FIR No. 47/2019 at Police Station Srigufwara, involving the recovery of substantial quantities of contraband substances.

“This decisive step underscores Anantnag Police’s commitment to eradicating the drug menace and dismantling the economic framework supporting illegal narcotics trade,” police said, adding, “The action aims to deter criminal activities and protect society from the adverse effects of drug abuse.”

Police also urged citizens to support their efforts in creating a drug-free society and reiterated their resolve to take stringent legal actions against those involved in drug-related crimes.
