In a significant action against drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached a residential property and land worth approximately 75 lakh under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The property—a double-storey residential house and 2.5 marlas of land (out of 15 marlas)—is located at Kenihama, BK Pora, Nowgam, and is registered in the name of Mohammad Jaffar Ganie, father of Parwaiz Ahmad Ganie alias Pawa, who is currently lodged in District Jail Kathua under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
Parwaiz Ahmad Ganie was named in FIR No. 128/2022 under Sections 8, 22, and 29 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Nowgam. The investigation revealed that Parwaiz holds a share in the said property, prompting attachment under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
The attachment was executed in the presence of the Executive Magistrate First Class, BK Pora, and two independent witnesses, after obtaining approval from the competent authority (SAFEMA, New Delhi).
The owner has been barred from selling, leasing, or altering the property under the law. This action underscores the J&K Police’s firm commitment to eliminating the drug menace and building a drug-free society in the region.
The police have urged the public to cooperate and support their ongoing campaign against narcotics.(KINS)
