J&K sees decline in stone pelting, foreign attack cases: CRPF

SRINAGAR, MAR 16 (UNI) Security Forces taking positions at an encounter site on the outskirts of Srinagar city at Nowgam where three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants got killed on Wednesday.

New Delhi, March 17 (UNI) The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been maintaining law and order properly in Jammu and Kashmir as since the abrogation of Article 370, the cases of stone pelting and foreign attacks have reduced, said Kuldeep Singh, Director General of CRPF.
Addressing the media persons at a press conference at CGO Complex in Delhi, Singh said, “CRPF is trying to induct vehicle scanners in the force for this process is going on.”
Replying to the question regarding 100-day leave for CRPF personnel, Singh said, “We take this issue time and again with the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Ministry is working on it positively.
During March 21 to March 22, CRPF has killed total 195 terrorists/ Maoists, apprehended total 1743, arms recovered 545, explosives recovered 1615 Kg, IED recovered 425, detonators recovered 1382 and number of encounters were taken place 135.
As a neutral Force, CRPF intervened in the bloody clash between Assam and Mizoram Police, at Lailapur Vaircngte border, and evacuated casualties (both fatal and non-fatal), including SP Cachar and other Assam Police personnel, from the firing zone. At present CRPF personnel are deployed along the Assam-Mizoram border to prevent recurrence of the incident, said CRPF.
