J&K: Three JeM terrorists killed in twin encounters in Kishtwar, Udhampur districts

Three terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist outfit were killed in two separate encounters in Kishtwar and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.


A Defence spokesman here said that one terrorist was neutralised during Operation Trashi-I in Kishtwar.


During the search operation in the dense forests and the challenging terrain of Kishtwar region, contact was re-established with terrorists on the run by CIF Delta troops, J&K Police and CRPF at around 5.45 pm in the general area of Dichhar, Chatroo, he added.


Two terrorists were neutralised in Operation KIYA in Basantgarh in Udhampur district.


The Army’s White Knight Corps said in a post on X that “based on specific intelligence input provided by J&K Police, troops of CIF Delta, Army and CRPF planned and executed a focused joint counter-terror operation in the general area of Jophar Forest, Basantgarh, reinforcing the cordon, ensuring effective area domination to prevent escape of terrorists.”


“Contact with terrorists was established yesterday, and since then, the terrorists had been under surveillance “Following a calibrated and coordinated response, two terrorists have been successfully neutralised,” the Army said, adding that the Operation highlighted seamless inter-agency coordination, tactical precision and high standards of professionalism.


” The Operation concluded successfully while the area remains under surveillance,” the Army said.
