J&K: Tulip Garden in Srinagar enters World Book of Records

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday congratulated the floriculture department for entering into the World Book of Records London.


“Congratulations to Commissioner Secretary Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, the entire team of Floriculture, Gardens & Parks Department, and the dedicated gardeners for this tremendous achievement”, Lieutenant Governor said in a tweet.

Asia’s largest Tulip Garden in Srinagar has made an entry in the World Book of Records London, officials said.

Deputy Director Floriculture Ikhlas Shayiq told UNI the certificate of record was issued on August 19 during a function held in the garden.

He said “We are very happy and thanks to the almighty that our efforts yielded good results”.

Shayiq said that next year’s Tulip show would be more attractive and hoped that more and more people will visit the garden”.

They said Asia’s largest Tulip Garden situated near the Dal Lake on the foothills of Zabarwan in Srinagar has made its entry into the World Book of Records London.

For the past few years the Tulip garden has been attracting a large number of tourists from across the world.

A record over 3.65 lakh tourists visited the garden this year surpassing the all-time previous records.
