National Conference on Thursday asked PDP to make public what transpired in a recent meeting between the BJP general secretary Ram Madhav and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti.
With the end of the present deadlock over the government formation seeming near, the national conference accused PDP not to keep its demands secret and make public what the party has asked from the BJP.
“What is needed is that PDP must come clear over what it wants from the BJP. Whether the party wants AFSPA revocation, Self Rule, talks with Hurriyat or anything else. It has to be made public. The fact is that the PDP is hiding its agenda from its voters and is virtually deceiving them,” NC general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said.
He said that those who have elected the PDP have a right to know what the party wants to enterer into the alliance with the BJP in the state. Sagar maintained that PDP has become a symbol of U-turns and that its one leader is contradicting the other every day after. “It is for sure that the new government will be formed in the state. It remains to be seen with what excuse PDP would come this time. So far they have meet the BJP leaders behind the closed doors. PDP should have made the details of the meet public,” Sagar said.
Holding PDP-BJP government responsible for the ration mess which the state is witnessing at present , the NC general secretary said it was the coalition of the PDP and the BJP which floated norms and implemented NFSA in the state that too without even tabling the act in the legislative assembly. “Wasn’t Article 370 diluted by directly implementing the NFSA act in the state. JK has a special status and no act or law can be implemented in the state unless passed by the state assembly. How come NFSA was implemented by the mere cabinet order.”
Sagar said such statements wherein it is said that amendments can be made in the new food act, are baseless as it is the parliament only that has the constitutional authority to amend the act.
Sagar added that the statement administration is creating chaos on ground as the wrong data available with the CAPD is making the situation more turbulent. The NC general secretary said more than 7 lakh people would be denied from the ration facility through the new act and that the onus lies of the dispensation to clear the air and confusion of people about the same.(Agencies)
