Srinagar, Feb 7 (UNI) Security forces shot dead an unidentified militant in an ongoing operation in Kashmir on Monday evening, officials said.
They said the gunfight erupted at Nambal village of Awantipora sub district in south Kashmir when joint teams launched a cordon and a search operation following an input about the presence of militant.
“An encounter broke during the CASO and so far one terrorist has been killed,” a security official said.
A police tweet said the search is going on.
This is the third gunfight in Kashmir in February. In earlier, two gun battles three local militants were killed.
