Need Joint strategy of security agencies to maintain peace in J&K: DGP Dilbag Singh

 Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh on Friday stressed the need for joint strategy of security agencies that would lead to more success in maintaining peace and congenial atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir.

The DGP during his visit to frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara where he chaired a security review meeting and presided over a Darbar of Jawans and officers stressed the need for joint strategy to be followed by Jammu and Kashmir Police with other security agencies that would lead to more success in maintaining peace, order and ensuring congenial atmosphere.

He stressed to keep vigil on the anti-national and anti-social activities by increasing area domination and Naka check points.

The DGP praised Police, army and other security agencies for their role in making Kupwara a militancy free district and directed the officers to be more vigilant and keep pressure on the anti national elements and their supporters.

He stressed upon officers to identify the people and Over Ground Workers (OGWs) who support these anti national elements and help sustain the terror eco-system.

He appreciated the recent successes of J&K Police and other security forces against terrorism in different encounters. He said that synergy between the forces in our Counter Terrorist Grid has led to success. Communication at the grass root level of all forces enhances this synergy.

The DGP emphasized upon the officers that while dealing with any anti-militancy activities and law and order scenario, civilian convenience and security should always be kept in mind.

He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have stood firm with the J&K Police against the war against terrorism.

Meeting besides the visiting officers was attended by JOC 28th infantry Div Major General Abhijit. S. Pendharkar, DIG CRPF North Kashmir, Sanjay Yadav, DIG, Sector Hqrs BSF, Kupwara, Amrendra. K. Vidyrthi, DIG NKR Udayabhaskar Billa, SSP Kupwara, Yougal Kumar Manhas, SSP Handwara Ms. Sheema Qasba, CO CRPF 162 Bn Vinod Kumar, CO 98 Bn, Shri Ajay Tiwari, ASP Kupwara Pardeep Singh, Deputy Commandant IR 4th Bn Shri Mir Aajaz and other officers.
