Srinagar: National health mission (NHM) employees protest for regularization entered its 15th day today.
The employees today staged a protest at Lal Chowk, the protest rally blocked the traffic on residency roads for hours.
From last two weeks NHM employees are demanding regularization, equal wages and other benefits.
The protesting employees said that government is not serious in resolving their issues including implementation of SRO 384.
The employees accuse government of keeping them from benefits that are extended to other employees of health department
“Last year we protested for months but government other than forming a ceremonial panel did nothing, this time we won’t call off our strike unless our demands are met,” said one of the protesting employees to VMS.
The strike was supported by other health schemes like RNTCP, NACO etc.
The employees said that they are working from 2006 under centrally sponsored National Health Mission.(VMS
