Night temperature settles above freezing point across Kashmir

Srinagar, March 12 (UNI) Except for the tourist resort of Pahalgam, the night temperature settled above the freezing point across Kashmir, the Meteorological (MeT) department said on Saturday.

The weather in the valley remained pleasant on Saturday. The MeT said there is no forecast of any significant weather change.

Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 5.1 degree Celsius against last night’s 3.8 degree. The maximum temperature in Srinagar city rose to 21.7 degrees Celsius on Friday.

Border town Kupwara recorded a minimum temperature of 3.2 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded the night temperature at 4.3 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 0.4 degrees Celsius against minus 1.1 degree last night.  The ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of 1.0 degrees Celsius.

Jammu recorded a low of 14.4 degrees Celsius.

Leh in the Union Territory of Ladakh recorded a minimum of minus 2 degrees Celsius against last night’s minus 3.8 degrees. The minimum temperature in Drass was recorded at minus 12.3 degrees Celsius.
