Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai on Thursday visited Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier and reviewed the present security scenario on
the India-Bangladesh border.
The Union minister interacted with field commanders and troops on ground and discussed various operational matters with them.
BSF Meghalaya frontier Inspector General, Pradip Kumar, briefed the minister about the area of responsibility of Meghalaya frontier.
They discussed the various challenges on the Indo-Bangladesh international border and measures being taken to control trans-border crimes.
Rai also took stock of operational preparedness in order to make the Indo-Bangladesh International border crime free. He applauded the efforts, bravery and dedication of BSF personnel in safeguarding the borders.
