Northern Commander briefs J&K CM on security situation

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command, Lt. Gen. Pratik Sharma, called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and briefed him on the prevailing security situation and recent developments along the Line of Control (LoC) and other border areas.

This marks the first meeting between the Northern Commander and the Chief Minister since Abdullah assumed office in October.

Omar on Wednesday posted pictures of him welcoming Lt General Sharma and Srinagar based 15 Corps chief Lt General Prashant Srivastava at his Srinagar residence on X..

“Yesterday, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command, Lt. Gen. Pratik Sharma, called on me and briefed about the prevailing security situation and recent developments along the LoC and other border areas. He was accompanied by Lt. Gen. Prashant Srivastava, GOC 15 Corps, ” office of Chief Minister said in a post on X.

“Our forces are doing a commendable job in protecting the nation, ” it added.
