One Dead, Five Injured In Kashmir Road Mishaps

One person died while five others were injured in different road accidents in the valley, police said. 

In Leh, they said, a vehicle (Qualis) bearing registration JK10-2079 driven by Gonbo Dorjay son of Tsering Spalzang resident of Warb Gongma fell into a deep gorge at Nobra in the jurisdiction of Police Station Nobra, resulting in on spot death of the driver. 

After completion of legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites, they said.

Leh police has registered a case in this regard, they said. 

In Anantnag, police said, a Sumo bearing registration number JK03-8421 driven by Ishfaq Naik resident of Reshipora, Kapran turned turtle near main road Haman Yangnard in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dooru, resulting in injuries to three passengers Abdul Rashid Thoker, Nisar Ahmad Ahangar residents of Halsidar and Shagufta resident of Check Wangund. 

All the injured were shifted to Public Health Centre Verinag for treatment. Anantnag police has registered a case in this regard, they said.

Meanwhile, they said, an unknown vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian Mukhtar Ahmad Jando son of Abdul Majeed Jando resident of Bilal Colony Janglat Mandi, at KP Chowk in the jurisdiction of Police Station Anantnag. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment, where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura. 

Anantnag police has registered a case in this regard, they said. 

In Ganderbal, a vehicle (Tipper) bearing registration number JK01D-3789 hit and injured a pedestrian lady Fatima Begum wife of Parvaiz Ahmad Shah at Tengpora Hayan in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kangan, they said.

The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Kangan for treatment.(Agencies)
