More than 1.70 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy Mata Vaishno Devi shrine during the nine-day Shardiya Navratri, which concluded on Wednesday.
Chants of ‘Jai Mata Di’ and devotional songs echoed across Katra and the 13-km yatra route as devotees thronged the shrine amid elaborate security and festive decorations.
Officials said that the yatra is progressing smoothly with increasing footfall each day.
Special arrangements, including wireless sets, volunteers, and a multi-tier security grid, were put in place to ensure a comfortable pilgrimage.
The yatra had resumed on September 17 after a 22-day suspension due to landslides triggered by torrential rains in August.(KINS)
