A quartermaster posted in the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) was shot dead by an unidentified person in front of his house in Krishna Nagar area of the state capital Lucknow, police sources said here on Monday.
Police sources said that the incident took place in Manas Vihar colony where Satish Kumar (52), who was posted in 4th battalion of PAC in Prayagraj, was shot by an unidentified persons around 2:30 am. “He was taken to Lok Bandhu hospital by the police where doctors declared him dead,” they said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vineet Jaiswal said that on the complaint of the family members a case has been lodged at Krishna Nagar police. “Five teams have been constituted to unearth the case. The crime and surveillance teams have also been deployed,” he said.
