Pakistan cricket team will participate in the 2023 ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup to be held in Sri Lanka next month, said an official statement on Friday.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris will lead the Pakistan-A team in the eight-team tournament from July 14 to 23.
The defending champion Pakistan is placed in Group A along with India-A, Sri Lanka-A and Nepal, while Group B includes Afghanistan-A, Bangladesh-A, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
The tournament will adopt a round-robin and knockout format, and the top two sides from each group will progress to the semifinals, followed by the final.
Pakistan will play their first match against Nepal on the opening day of the event, followed by matches against India-A on July 16 and Sri Lanka-A on July 18.
Pakistan is scheduled to assemble at the National Cricket Academy in the eastern city of Lahore on July 3 for a training camp before their departure for the event.
