Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Er Nazir Ahmad Yatoo on Sunday appealed to people not to pay heed to anti-Islam elements for sharing blasphemy video on social networking sites.
In a statement, Er Nazir Ahmad Yatoo said, no one should spread such content that would create panic among the public and affect the tranquillity in the Jammu and Kashmir known for ”peace”.
The statement from the PDP leader comes after an incident involving video of communally sensitive nature, has gone viral on social media which seems to have been maliciously posted to create communal tension.
“As I had already announced, people need not worry, such elements are always waiting to get a chance for spreading rumours as well as blasphemy content against our peaceful religion,” Er Nazir Yatoo said.
“With a more balanced approach, it’s possible to demonstrate that violent extremism has no state or religion, and that all identities, ethnicities, and religions are part of the solution,” he said.
“I request people of Jammu and Kashmir not to believe such false rumours, and maintain peace” adding that police should take strict action against such people.
