PM Modi to virtually flag off Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat train on Aug 10

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off Vande Bharat Train tomorrow between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station of Jammu Division of Northern Railway and Amritsar Railway Station of Ferozepur Division via Jammu-Pathankot-Jalandhar Vyas, officials here today said.

The train service will be connecting two religious towns of Amritsar in Punjab and Katra in Jammu.

“The Vande Bharat train will provide a comfortable and faster travel experience to the passengers going to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra,” railway officials said.

They said that two Vande Bharat trains are currently running between New Delhi to Katra and two from Katra to Srinagar, adding, “Katra-Amritsar will be the fifth Vande Bharat train to run in Jammu and Kashmir.”

They added that the Vande Bharat Train (26406) will run from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Amritsar Railway Station and (26405) will run from Amritsar Railway Station to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

This Vande Bharat Train will run six days a week except Tuesday, officials said, adding that Katra to Amritsar train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 6:40 am and reach Amritsar at 12:20 pm.

On the way it will have stoppage at Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar City, Vyas etc.

Similarly, Amritsar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra train will depart from Amritsar at 4:25 pm and reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 10.00 pm and will stop at railway stations like Vyas, Jalandhar City, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu etc.

This Vande Bharat train will benefit the passengers going to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to pay obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Vaishno Devi temple, they said.
