Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Samarkand.
The two leaders discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
Modi is also expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
Turkey has been a vocal critique of India over Kashmir and has raked up the issue several times in the past.
The SCO Summit got underway in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Friday with the participation of the leaders of its members including India, China, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
