New Delhi, Jan 29 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said on Saturday that the Election Commission and local administration in UP are engaged in suppressing the agenda of the youth and democracy.
Gandhi alleged that the Congress party was stopped from releasing the youth manifesto in Prayagraj on Saturday.
“BJP leaders campaign with the crowd, talk hateful things but no action was taken by the administration. But the Congress party was stopped from releasing the youth manifesto in Prayagraj today” she tweeted.
Priyanka Gandhi also said ” Under the pressure from the government, the Election Commission and the administration are engaged in suppressing the agenda of the youth and crushing the democracy.”
On Friday , the Congress launched its ‘Youth Manifesto’ for the upcoming assembly election in Uttar Pradesh. Titled ‘Bharti Vidhan’, it promises 20 lakh job opportunities and lays out the party’s vision for the youth in the state.
During the launch of manifesto, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said the government makes big announcements promising 25-30 lakh jobs, but fails to deliver on them.
“The youth of UP have lost faith in government’s guarantees of providing jobs” said Priyanka Gandhi.
Uttar Pradesh is going to assembly poll in seven-phases , starting from February 10 and the counting of votes will take place on March 10.
