Srinagar, April 25 (UNI) A Sarpanch was killed and six others, including four members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) were injured, when a bus carrying them met with an accident at Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.
Two police cops were also injured in the accident, they said.
Official sources said that a State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) bus carrying PRI members had a head-on collision with a tipper near Renzi Tappar Pattan, leading to the death of one of them and injuries to six others.
The deceased has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat a resident of Gulgam Kupwara.
The injured, including two cops, were admitted to hospital for treatment, they said.
The PRIs were identified as Haqeeqat Shah, Abdul Qayoom Shah, Abdul Jabbar Lone, Abdul Ahad Khan and a constable Abdul Hameed Bhat a Senior Grade Constable (SGCT) Mohammad Iqbal Sheikh.
