New Delhi, (UNI) Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday wrote a letter to Vice-President and Chairman of Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu, claiming misuse of power by law enforcement agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate and other agencies against MPs, their relatives, friends and acquaintances.
In his letter, he claimed that about a month ago, he was approached by certain people and was told to assist them in toppling the state government in Maharashtra, so that the state could be forced into mid-term elections.
Raut claimed that ED and other Central agencies were being used with the “oblique motive” of toppling the democratically-elected government, which was certainly not a healthy sign for any country.
Raut claimed that his daughter got married on November 29 last year. The personnel from ED and other agencies were summoning, intimidating and threatening the decorators and other vendors of the wedding event, so as to extract statements from them that they received Rs 50 lakh from him for cash. Raut urged Naidu to take note of these issues and take action. UNI
