Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha described the demise of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav a great loss for the country.
“Very sad news heard about the demise of Mulayam Singh Yadav today,” Scindia told the media on the sidelines of a function at SKICC here on Monday.
Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav died on earlier in the day at a Gurugram hospital after a prolonged illness.
Scindia said the SP patriarch has a long history of working for the betterment of the people of the country. “I pray to God may his soul rest in peace and provide strength to the family members to bear this loss. I believe the demise of Mulayam Singh is the loss for all of us and for the whole country,” he added.
He described Mulayam Singh as people’s leader and well wisher who spent his entire life for the betterment of the country and its men.
The long association of Mulayam Singh remained in providing his service to the people of the country…this is a great loss for the country, he said.
Describing the demise as a great loss for the country, Sinha prayed for his soul and said lakhs of followers of Mulayam Singh may follow the path he has shown to work for the humanity and contribute to the nation.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah described Mulayam Singh as a people’s leader who devoted all his life to the welfare of the poor.
He said the SP founder used to respect all religions and fight for their rights. There’s no person in India who would not be grieved on this day, the NC chief added.
Omar Abdullah conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Akhilesh Yadav and his entire family on the sad demise. “Neta ji was a towering personality & his contribution to UP & the rest of the country will not be forgotten. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
