Shah should answer queries of J&K people: Karra

Ahead of the expected visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Tariq Hameed Karra on Wednesday asked the Home Minister to answer to the queries of people of Jammu and Kashmir including those of the worst suffered people of Poonch.

“People of J&K want to know why it took more than twenty days to the Home Minister to reach the worst suffering people especially of Poonch district who suffered huge pain and sufferings besides loss to the property. Why no other national leader or central minister of his government could reach out to share the pain of affected people,” he asked.

The JKPCC Chief also questioned why there was no security, in spite of advance intelligence inputs, as a result the terrorists succeeded in carrying out Pahalgam carnage, when it was highly sensitive and vulnerable area, given the situation, despite claims of fool proof security everywhere, under his direct command and who is held responsible for this and what action is being taken or contemplated.

Karra has asked all DCC Presidents to reach out to the people to expose BJP’s false narratives and failures while saluting the bravery of our armed forces, who always accomplished the task assigned to them by the government.

Chairing a meeting of DCC Presidents of Jammu province here, Karra questioned the BJP’s attempts to draw political mileage out of the successes and bravery of our armed forces.

He hit out at the BJP for attempts at taking credit for the armed forces successfully carrying out ‘Operation Sindoor’.

He said that the Modi government and BJP has failed to reply to a single question raised by the opposition, after the ceasefire, especially Congress party regarding the security masters in the situation and the other important aspects regarding the sovereignty, dignity, integrity and honour of our country.

Urging cadres to counter the false narratives and propaganda against Congress, he asserted that questioning the Government doesn’t mean questioning the Nation, which is BJP’s attempt to mislead the people alongwith a section of the media.

He said that the opposition has a duty to ask questions to the government on behalf of people, otherwise democracy is in danger, which is the largest democracy in the world.

He asked the party cadres to go offensive and ask people’s questions to the government while praising the role of security forces and the unity and togetherness shown by the people of all walks, faiths and religions to counter nefarious designs of Pakistan and other communal and divisive forces.

He also asked district units to prepare for the carrying forward of the statehood campaign of the party, as the elections without powers to the people’s government are meaningless.

Karra said that people are losing trust in the elections due to failure to fulfil commitments by the central government regarding transfer of powers and granting of statehood immediately after elections.

JKPCC Working President, Raman Bhalla also expressed concern over the sufferings of people especially the expectations of daily wagers, need based casual workers, unemployed youth and various other sections after elections but are getting frustrated in the absence of powers and financial package to J&K.

Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said BJP is running a proxy government through LG administration who is running a parallel government.

He asked DCC Presidents to reach out to the people to expose BJP’s anti-democratic approach.
