Punjab Kings (PBKS) Captain Shreyas Iyer has been fined Rs 12 lakh after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match No. 4 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026
against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the New International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh.
“As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Iyer was fined INR 12 lakhs,” an IPL statement on Wednesday said.
Registering a win to open their campaign, Punjab Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by three wickets in the fourth match of IPL 2026.
PBKS chased down a target of 163 in 19.1 overs, with debutant Cooper Connolly producing
a match-winning unbeaten 72 off 44 balls to seal the victory with five balls to spare.
