The Congress party in Himachal Pradesh does not want its leaders to use the party’s banner for campaigning until they are officially declared as candidates in the coming Assembly election.
Hamirpur district Congress President Rajendra Jar has warned some Congressmen to desist from the practice with immediate effect.

In a statement on Monday, Jar expressed displeasure that some party officials who want to contest the elections were, ignoring warnings, misusing the Congress banner for their personal campaign “in a very unconstitutional manner”.

“As the date for the assembly elections is approaching, such persons have intensified such activities by flouting the party’s code of conduct. Due to this, the party is getting weakened,” he said.
