Six of a family charred to death as hut catches fire in Kushinagar

Six members of a family were charred to death after fire broke out in a hut in Ramkola area of Kushinagar district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Thursday.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while condoling the loss of lives in the fire incident has directed the administration officials to provide a financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the kin of the deceased.

Police sources said that the incident took place in Bapu Nagar in ward number 2 of Ramkola Nagar Panchayat where hut of Naumi caught fire around 12:30 AM.

Police sources said that Naumi’s wife Sangita (38), sons Ankit (10), Babu (1), daughters Laxmi (9), Reeta (3) and Geeta (2) we’re charred to death in the fire incident.

The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police reached the spot and consoled the bereaving family and assured of financial assistance.

The District Magistrate Ramesh Ranjan said that the fire brigade was immediately called on the spot and the fire was controlled.
