Tokyo, March 10 (UNI) Japanese multinationals Sony and Espon have decided to suspend providing its services to Russia, media reports said on Thursday.
Sony has decided to suspend all software and hardware shipments to Russia, the PlayStation store will be also unavailable for Russian users, Sputnik reported.
The decision was made over the Russian decision to launch a military operation in Ukraine. Within the past several days, similar announcements have been made by a number of global companies, according to the CNBC broadcaster.
Japanese electronics company Epson also said that it is suspending the supply of computer printers and other products to Russia and Belarus.
“Epson and its Group companies are deeply concerned by the conflict in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis in the region… We have made the decision to suspend exports of our products to Russia and Belarus,” the company said in a statement.
“To support humanitarian relief for those affected by the crisis, we are donating US$1 million through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Red Cross,” it said.
