A village in South Kashmir is without power transformer from past 2 months while officials give a damn to their sufferings.
Badranan Breinty is a village in Dayalgam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The power transformer installed in this village by Power Development Department developed a fault some two months ago and since them villagers are awaiting replacement.
“Nobody listens to us. All our pleas have gone to deaf ears. PDD is reluctant to provide us 250 KV transformer. Whole village is reeling under darkness from past two months. We seek the intervention of PDD Chief Engineer,” the villagers said.
Meanwhile locals from Beerwah Budgam and Ahmadpora demanded that an additional transformer should be installed in these areas. They said that due to overload, the transformers develop frequent snags as a result these areas reel under darkness. (KNT)
