Students protest ‘merging’ of schools in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, FEB 21 (UNI):- Parents and students staging a demonstration in protest against the merging of a private school, in Srinagar on Monday.

Srinagar, (UNI): Students of a school staged a demonstration against the merging of a private school with another one without taking them into confidence in Srinagar.

Students of “Orbit Girls School” Peerbagh Srinagar accompanied by their parents alleged that the school has been merged with “World Foundation School” without taking them into confidence.
Protesting students at Press Enclave on Residency road, holding placards in their hands on which appeal was made to the Lt Governor Manoj Singh to intervene in the matter to get the school back.
Parents of the students said, “We received a WhatsApp message from the Principal of the “Orbit Girls School” on December 17 that this school has been merged with another school. The school administration took this unilateral decision after collecting fees from all students,” they alleged.
“We are against this merging and seek the intervention of LG Manoj Sinha and Director Education. We have been deceived,” the protesters demanded.
