Security forces have arrested a terrorist associate in Awantipora sub district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Monday.
They said Awantipora Police along with Army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF 185 Bn arrested a terrorist associate Javid Ahmad Hajam a resident of Gulab Bagh Tral, during a cordon and search operation at Wuyan Khrew.
“During search, arms and ammunition including a pistol with five live rounds was recovered from his possession,” police said.
Police said the arrested terrorist associate was involved in providing logistics support and transportation of arms & ammunition to the terrorists in Pampore, Tral and Awantipora areas of Police District Awantipora.
Accordingly a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been initiated, police said.
