‘The Kashmir Files’ shows reality and plight of Kashmiri Pandits: Gadkari

New Delhi April 5 (UNI) Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said the superhit film ‘The Kashmir Files’ director by Vivek Agnihotri has shown the reality of what happened to Kashmiri Pandits 30 years back and it will be remembered for a long time.

He was speaking in an event which was organised by the Global Diaspora of Kashmiri Pandits in New Delhi to felicitate the Director Vivek Agnihotri, and actors of the film Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi.

The Minister said no one can suppress history for long, it will definitely come out one day and what Vivek is trying to show in the his film is the history which was hidden for so many years. Gadkari said, “Vivek Agnihotri has rightly portrayed the plight of Kashmiri Pandits.

I thank him for revisiting history to show the people about the incident. The movie will also make the new generation aware of the history of Kashmiri Pandits. I thank Vivek Agnihotri for this,” Gadkari said. Talking about the controversy over the films, Agnihotri said , “The Kashmir Files is not spreading communalism but it has shown the reality and true face of terrorism against humanity in the valley”.

“This Film is not against any one or any community, even we have not used the word Pakistan in the entire film” he said. He said that the movie was based entirely on facts and certain people were trying to politicise it for their own benefits.

The event was also attended by senior BJP leader Shyam Jaju and during the event a video message of RSS, leader Indresh Kumar was also shown, in which he questioned, the opposition leaders and accused them for politising the film.
