SMS services, Broad Band services in all govt. hospitals to be restored post midnight in Kashmir
The government today announced that toll tax will be abolished in the Union Territory of J&K at Lakhanpur and all other posts including posts at Railway Stations and Airports w.e.f 01.01.2020. The government also announced that Short Messaging Service (SMS) and the broadband services in all the government hospitals will be restored midnight in the Kashmir valley.
This announcement was made by Principal Secretary Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, Rohit Kansal, who is also the government spokesperson during a press conference held at the Media Complex here this evening. Director Information & Public Relations, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar was also present during the press conference.
Pertinently with the imposition of GST, the country has moved towards one nation – one market or a one tax regime. Post GST, all barriers to entry/tariff based barriers have been removed.
Rohit Kansal further highlighted that the government remains committed to the development of a vibrant, modern and competitive industrial and manufacturing sector in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that the government has decided to set up a High Powered Committee under the chairmanship of Advisor Shri KK Sharma to interact with various stakeholders and to suggest measures to improve the competitiveness of local industry.
Principal Secretary added that around 6 lakh persons like students, tour operators, businessmen, contractors, etc were facilitated at 900 internet touch points established by the government at various places in each district headquarters of the valley.
