Two persons were killed and one more was injured after being hit by a car in Jagdishpur area of Amethi district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Wednesday.
Police sources said that the incident took place near Palpur late on Tuesday night when the car mowed down three persons waiting along the roadside. “The injured were taken to the community health center where doctors declared Narayan (45), a resident of Subeha in Barabanki district, and his brother-in-law Shyamu dead,” they said.
Police sources said that Rambaran was injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment. “The incident took place when the deceased were going to attend a marriage function,” they said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Rakesh Singh said that the bodies have been sent for post mortem examination. “Efforts are being made to trace the car involved in the accident and stern action will be taken against its driver,” he said.
