Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday arrested two men who are accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting two minor girls.
Police said the two minor girls of 12 and 13 year were rescued.
The two accused arrested were identified by police as Hilal Rather, 24 a resident of Haygam, Sopore and Shabir Mir, 30 of Kreeri Baramulla.
Police said a case has been registered in police station Lal Bazar under section 363 (Kidnapping) , 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code and 3/4 POCSO Act.
“2 accused Hilal Rather(24) S/o Gh Mohd Rather R/o Haygam, Sopore & Shabir Mir (30) S/o Gh Mohd Mir R/o Kreeri Baramulla arrested for kidnapping & sexually assaulting 2 minor girls of 12 & 13 yrs, who were rescued. FIR No 41/2023 U/s 363, 376 IPC & 3/4 POCSO Act at Lal Bazaar PS Srinagar,” Srinagar police tweeted.
