he bodies of two men who were buried in a snow avalanche in Naristan hills in southern Pulwama district have been retrieved by locals and police.

Two men, Mohammad Yousuf,22, son of Ghulla Gojar and Mohammad Yousuf,32, son of Jumma Ahmad were buried under a snow avalanche that took place Naristan hills, 25 kilometers from Tral town.

SHO Tral, Tariq Ahmad told KNS that the two men have died due to the avalanche and the police with the help of locals were retrieved from the snow.

The two men had left their home this morning to collect forest wood in Mushkidajan area in hilly Naristan area in Tral.

At 2 pm in afternoon, locals heard the sound of snow cracking which alerted them of the avalanche. Soon after they began searching for the two men, and they were found buried under the avalanche,” the police official said.(Agencies)
