Two militants arrested in Kashmir

SHOPIAN, FEB 19 (UNI)- Security personnel taking positions during an encounter with terrorists, two Army persons martyred and one terrorist killed in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Saturday.

Srinagar, (UNI): Two militant associates were arrested in Kashmir on Saturday, officials said.

The arrests were made in South Kashmir’s Pulwama and Srinagar districts.
A militant associate of Jaish-e-Mohammad Irfan Yousuf Dar,  resident of Rohmoo, Pulwama was arrested in a joint operation in his village.

“Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including an AK rifle, a magazine and 30 rounds of ammunition was recovered from his possession,” a police statement said.
In a similar action, on specific information, a joint party of Police and CRPF arrested a militant associate of Laskhar-e-Toiba/The Resistance Front named Junaid Mushtaq Bhat. Bhat, a resident of Nillow, Kulgam at Eidgah area of Srinagar, was found to be posessing a pistol, police said.

“During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the said terrorist associate had come to Srinagar city to carry out terror incidents especially target killings,” it added.
Regarding both the incidents, cases under relevant sections have been registered and further investigation is ongoing.
