Kedarnath: A helicopter carrying Kedarnath pilgrims to Gupt Kashi crashed on Tuesday under inclement weather condition, DGCA official confirmed saying casualties were feared.
A state administration rescue and relief team that reached the spot is said to have retrieved bodies from the site of the crash.
The helicopter crashed near Garud Chatti, 3 km before Kedarnath.
On board the private aircraft were two pilots and four civilians, as per officials.
Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia tweeted: “The helicopter crash in Kedarnath is extremely unfortunate.
“We are in touch with the State government to ascertain the magnitude of the loss, and are constantly monitoring the situation.”
