Washington, (UNI) The US Navy has discharged 240 service members for refusing to get vaccinated against Covid-19 as per the Pentagon’s vaccine mandate.

The Navy said in its statement on Wednesday that a majority of the service members, 217, were active duty, and one was a US Navy Reserve member.

According to CNN, fewer than two dozen — 22 of the 240 — were discharged while still undergoing training within their first 180 days of active-duty service.

The Navy further said that over 8,000 service members are still unvaccinated.

This is despite the Navy setting deadline for its active members to be fully jabbed against Covid on November 2021.
