New Delhi, March 10 (UNI) The vote of the people is supreme in democracy, said Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, General secretary, Congress, soon after the results of the polls in five states.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, tweeted in Hindi and said, “The vote of the people is supreme in a democracy. Our workers and leaders worked hard, formed the organisation, fought on the issues of the people. But, we were not able to convert our hard work into votes.
The Congress party is following a positive agenda for the betterment of UP and the public will continue to fulfill the duty of the struggling opposition with full responsibility.”
The Congress said it is disappointed with the results of the polls in five states, and party president Sonia Gandhi will soon call a meeting of the Congress Working Committee(CWC) to discuss the results.
Party’s chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said Congress was disappointed with the results of the polls in five states, but has not lost its courage.
