You must write every single day of your life… You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads… may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.

Aamir Altaf a resident of Drugmulla area of District Kupwara Jammu and Kashmir has completed his graduation from Aligarh Muslim University last year in political science and presently preparing for civil services.  He says, “The COVID19 lockdown has turned out to be a blessing in disguise for him as he wrote a book while being indoors”

Aamir said that the writings of Dr Sir Mohammed Iqbal , Paulo Coelho and Elif Shafak has motivated him and covid-19 lockdown explored a writer out of him.

When I passed my XII,  I got selected in Aligarh Muslim University for BA course . I started reading books and my interest grew towards writing. Over the years I have read plenty of books be it fiction or nonfiction.

“Forty rules of love “by Elif Shafak , “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho and poetry of Sir Mohammed Iqbal helps me to discover true purpose in life. The influence of these books made me to read even more and more. I realized the importance of words in life and share my own message. I went into writing the book “walking away- the unfinished part of me “, He says.

“Walking away – the unfinished part of me “was released recently by starlet publishing house Mumbai. The book is a story that is based on love, sacrifice, and long-distance relationships. “It tells us about how our society is dysfunctional and how our culture encourages us to be emotionless. It tells us about how our youth constantly look for something deep and intimate without looking for the risks.

Love is much more than just feelings. It’s more of a choice, being in love is easy staying in love is hard because you have to accept this person, you have to love this person despite what flaws they have. It further tells us about Goodbyes suck especially when they come from the people who mean world to us. We are never really prepared to lose anyone, we are never prepared to be alone and perhaps that’s what sucks about living a life without the ones we love, He says.

“The story depicts the life of a student, how he struggled in this conflict and turmoil hit region and what predicaments he faced during his student life.”

Aamir Quotes some famous lines from the book” catcher in the Rye “that “what really knocks me out is a book that when you’re all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him like it that doesn’t happen much though “This is what I felt while reading” Forty rules of love “by Elif Shafak.

Over the years Aamir has featured in various National, Regional newspapers and magazines with his opinion pieces on various contemporary issues. He has a dream to make big in the society and want to change the course of history.
