Meerut, Feb 7 (UNI) Sharpening his attack on the opposition, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that the Congress and SP are the birds of the same feather, as their thinking and agenda match with each other.
“Both continuously insulted great men like Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and threw the state into the fire of riots. The BJP regime put an end to riots and none occurred in the last five years,” he said.
Addressing a rally in Meerut, the CM said, “Whenever Congress and SP governments came, riots started. Due to the riots, be it Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, or Bijnor, curfew was imposed, and the traders and poor used to get troubled by the situation. The name of SP is Samajwadi, but their ideology is family politics and work is of rioters.” Invoking Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the CM said that Baba Ambedkar has given a new direction to the country through the constitution. It is the Prime Minister who gave respect to him, while Congress and SP have been continuously insulting Baba Saheb. PM Modi made five places associated with Baba Saheb into five pilgrimages.
“Babasaheb opposed the partition of India and said that those who are supporting the partition of India should go to Pakistan. Had Babasaheb’s words been accepted, there would have been no riots in the country. In 1987, there was a fierce riot in Meerut as well. Hundreds of people were killed. This process continued, because Congress and SP always encouraged rioters. The 87 riots would have caused a lot of damage if the PAC would not have stopped it.” The CM maintained that when his government came, he ordered the deployment of PAC battalions in the riot-hit areas. “We are building an ATS center in Deoband. Whoever indulges in anti-national activities, he will have to pay for it.” Making a fierce attack at “2 Ladko Ki Jodi” that is the alliance of Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary, the CM said that during the riots, one was watching a spectacle and the other was causing the riot.
He also made a mention of the Mahabharat incident, the CM said that Hastinapur is in Meerut itself where the ‘cheerharan’ of Draupadi took place. It was Draupadi who had asked Mahatma Vidur that everybody is equally guilty of the sin whether it is the one who committed the sin, the ones who remained a spectator and those who were supporting the sin.” He said that neither we have to become spectators, nor do we have to be associates in any sin (riots). Emphasizing the policy of zero-tolerance against crime and criminals, the Chief Minister said that the property of those who create ruckus will be confiscated, and bulldozers will keep running. We will give security to every daughter. Today there is the rule of law and everyone is being respected. Mentioning the Covid management in the state, the CM stated that about 100 percent people have taken the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 75 percent people have taken both the doses. This election will be 80 vs 20. Now these 80 percent are coming towards us. Those who were opposing the vaccine should be slapped on the face by not giving a vote for them.First, they killed people by riots and now wanted to get people killed from coronavirus. “It is because of the double engine government that there are no riots, no exodus like Kairana. People are getting a double dose of ration whereas the SP government gave nothing.”
He said that the government is the same, the system is the same, but the BJP has replaced the SP. Earlier, the money meant for the development used to go to the house of ‘itra wala mitra’.Now the people are getting free ration. The Chief Minister said that five years ago it used to take 5 hours to reach Delhi, now it is covered in 40 minutes. Now rapid rail is also going to run, due to which you will be able to travel up to Delhi in 40 minutes. We are building a sports university in Meerut. Ganga Expressway is going to be built from Meerut to Prayagraj.
He said that the one who makes life easy and provides security is the BJP-government. “The SP has complained to the Election Commission that the youth should not get smartphones and tablets. Now they will complain that people should not even be given ration. They are trying to stop every scheme of government, the people must stop them,” he added.
