16 local officers of J&K inducted in IAS

In a significant move to address shortage of IAS officers in Jammu & Kashmir, the Government of India on Wednesday inducted 16 officers of the Union Territory in the prestigious service.

As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Government of India today issued a notification for induction of 16 officers of J&K Administrative Service (JKA) in the IAS.  This is after a gap of a decade that local officers have been inducted in the prestigious service against promotion quota vacancies.

These officers have been inducted in the prestigious service against vacancies arising from 2013 to 2018.

According to the notification, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Talat Parvez Iqbal Rohella (Commissioner Secretary, Hospitality & Protocol department), Rukhsana Gani (Chairperson, Special Tribunal), Rehana Batul (Commissioner Secretary, Public Grievances), Mir Tariq Ali (Director, Women & Child Development), Amit Sharma (Secretary, Administrative Reforms, Inspections & Trainings department), Nazim Zia Khan (Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation & Reconstruction), Shakeel-Ul-Rehman Rather(Commissioner, Food & Drug Administration), Pradeep Kumar(Director, Archives, Archaeology and Museums), Rahul Sharma (Secretary, General Administration Department), Narinder Singh Bali (Secretary, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment), Aijaz Ahmad Bhat (Secretary, Labour & Employment ), Hashmat Ali Yatoo (Administrator, Associated Hospitals Srinagar), Majid Khalil Ahmad Drabu (Controller, Legal Metrology), Mohammad Akbar Wani (Secretary, Agriculture Production Department), Sheikh Arshad Ayub (Inspector General of Registration) and Rajesh Sharma (Custodian General) have been inducted in the elite service—(KNO)
