(Rpt, changing category) Srinagar, April 14 (UNI) Security forces shot dead two militants in an ongoing operation in Kashmir, officials said. A gun battle erupted at Badigam, Zainapora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district during a cordon and a search operation in the area following an input about militant presence.
“As the joint team of forces cordoned the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire triggering a gunfight. In the gunfight so far two terrorists have been killed,” a security official said.
The identity and affiliation of the militants is not known yet. Police said search operation is going on. On Wednesday, a minority community member Satish Kumar Singh was shot dead in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.
Meanwhile, several Army mem were injured when their vehicle met with an accident while it was on way to Shopian encounter site. ” Several jawans have got injured and some of them are critical,” a defence official said.
