Srinagar, April 14 (UNI) Security forces shot dead two more militants in an ongoing operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s
Shopian district, taking the death toll to four, officials said.
A gun battle erupted at Badigam during a cordon and search operation.
“As the security forces cordoned the suspected spot, the hidden terrorists opened fire triggering a gunfight. In the gunfight two terrorists were killed initially. Two more were killed later,” an official said.
The identity and affiliation of the slain men was not known yet.
On Wednesday, a Satish Kumar Singh was shot dead in Kulgam district in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, several soldiers were injured when their vehicle met with an accident while it was on way to the Shopian gun battle site. One of them was said to be in critical condition.
