Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla on Thursday claimed to have recovered an abducted girl and arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
On 01-07-2023, Police Post Palhallan received a written complaint from one person (name withheld) stating therein that his daughter aged about 19 years was missing from home since 30/06/2023, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 222/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation was initiated.
“During the course of investigation, it came to the fore that some unknown persons have abducted the said missing girl. During further investigation, officers with the help of technical evidences learnt that the accused persons along with victim had left UT of J&K for New Delhi,” police said.
Acting promptly, police said that a team was constituted, who accordingly went to New Delhi, where from the abducted girl was recovered and the accused persons have also been arrested.
They have been identified as Ashiq Ali Mangral son of Mohd Akram Mangral resident of Tuli Reasi & Deep Kumar son of Sadha Ram resident of Chalabeni Kathua.
After completing the legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs, police said, adding that further investigation of the case is going on
