Focus on strengthening integrity, transparency, and ethical governance
In line with the nationwide observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 themed “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu and Kashmir today launched a week-long series of awareness and outreach programs across the Union Territory. The initiative aims to foster a culture of integrity, promote transparency, and reinforce collective responsibility in combating corruption.
The campaign was simultaneously inaugurated at multiple venues across Jammu and Kashmir, including the Revenue Training Institute Jammu, DC offices in Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Ramban, Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Budgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, and Anantnag, besides the PWD Dak Bungalow Rajouri, Town Hall Awantipora, DAK Bungalow Baramulla, and IMPA Srinagar.
A special documentary highlighting ACB’s ongoing anti-corruption efforts and institutional reforms was also unveiled during the launch. The film underscored the importance of collective action and public participation in strengthening accountability and ethical conduct across government sectors.
Under the supervision of Shakti Kumar Pathak, IPS, Director ACB J&K, day-one events at various district venues featured awareness sessions conducted by ACB branch officers in collaboration with the Revenue Department. These sessions saw active participation from district administrations, government officials, and members of the public. Speakers emphasized that combating corruption is not solely the duty of enforcement agencies but a shared moral and civic responsibility.
Interactive sessions were also conducted through mobile app platforms to collect real-time public and official feedback on service delivery challenges and corruption-related issues. Awareness material, including posters, pamphlets, and digital resources, was distributed to promote anti-corruption tools such as the Satark Nagrik App and the ACB Helpline.
Each district-level event concluded with an Integrity Pledge Ceremony, administered by senior officials from the ACB and district administrations, reaffirming participants’ commitment to ethical conduct and transparent governance. The pledge was also administered at ACB Headquarters in Jammu and Srinagar.
ACB officials urged citizens, government employees, and media representatives to actively participate in the Bureau’s vigilance initiatives and contribute to building a corruption-free society rooted in transparency and integrity.
The inaugural day’s programs concluded with a vote of thanks from the ACB, appreciating the enthusiastic participation of officials, employees, and members of the public across Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
