Srinagar: To thawrt the counter rally of sepratists on eve of Prime Minister Narender Modi's rally in Srinagar on November 7, the police detained several sepratist leaders today. According to JKLf spokesman its chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik has been detained by police at his residence who was also particpiating in million march programme announced by Huriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani. Malik is lodged at Kothi Bagh police station.

The other leaders who were detained include Showkat Bakhshi, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri and Mohammad Amin Magloo.

Several leaders of Hurriyat (G) and Hurriyat (M) were also arrested or placed under house arrest during raids last night by police.

The proposed "million march" seems a cause of frustration for state government which is directed by New Delhi to ensure maximum participation of people in Prime Ministers rally especially of youth.

The Home Ministry has already directed state goverment to keep vigil on sepratists movement on eve of Prime Ministers visit.

The police has also started blocking all the accouts on social networking sites supporting the "Million March".
