Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the political satire One Battle After Another secured 14 nominations, just two short of the BAFTA record set by Gandhi, and matching the tally of films such as All Quiet on the Western Front, Atonement, The King’s Speech, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, according to Variety.
Close behind, Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, earned 13 nominations, marking the first BAFTA nominations for both Coogler and Michael B. Jordan.
Meanwhile, Hamnet and Marty Supreme garnered 11 nominations each, with Timothée Chalamet returning to the Leading Actor category for the second consecutive year.
The BAFTA Film Awards will be held on February 22 at London’s Royal Festival Hall, with Alan Cumming serving as host, Variety reported.
