Amarnath Yatra: Fresh batch of over 5000 pilgrims leaves Jammu

A fresh batch of more than 5000 pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp here left for Shri Amarnath cave shrine from twin Pahalgam and Baltal routes in Kashmir on Wednesday.

Official sources said that the sixth batch of 5,725 pilgrims left the base camp this morning.

The pilgrims comprises of 4,481 men, 1,034 women, 25 children, 173 sadhus, and 12 sadhvies.

Last year, over 4.5 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave shrine.

The 52-day long Amarnath Yatra will conclude on August 19.
